What on earth is a mini brazier?

A mini brazier is a compact, portable little brazier made from leftovers from the production of beeswax cloths.

Gotland Originals is one of Sweden's largest manufacturers of beeswax wraps, and we generate a lot of waste. This can include beeswax wraps that have become crooked, edge strips, poorly manufactured wraps, or wraps that have been dropped on the ground.

Instead of throwing them away, we give them a new use, just as we already do with fire starters.

They are perfect for lighting a mini fire on the patio to roast marshmallows on late summer evenings, or for packing on your next hiking, fishing, or hunting trip.

Here are the answers to the most common questions about mini fires.

What is the burning time?

A mini fire burns for about 5 hours.

How do you extinguish mini fire pits?

Simply put the lid on, and the fire will be smothered. Remember to let it cool for a few minutes before lifting it, as it will still be very hot and the beeswax will still be liquid.

Can you relight it after extinguishing it?

Yes! It works great. It may be a little harder to get the flame going compared to the first time, so make sure you have a good lighter or more than one match. Once the flame gets going, it burns just as well as the first time.

Can mini fire pits be used indoors?

We recommend the mini fire pit for outdoor use.

Do you need to put something underneath it?

Yes, if you use it on a table, you should place something heat-resistant underneath to protect the table. Otherwise, black burn marks may appear on the table.

Can you carry the mini brazier around while it is burning?

No, please don't!

When the mini brazier is lit, the can becomes very hot. The beeswax also melts and becomes liquid. If you carry it while it is burning, you risk burning your fingers, or the liquid beeswax could spill over the edge and onto furniture and fingers.

Is the mini brazier suitable for children?

Lighting the mini brazier to enjoy the flame or roast marshmallows with the children sounds like great fun, and it works really well for that. However, we recommend that a lit mini brazier is never left unattended with children. All parents should use common sense and talk to their children about fire safety.

The mini fire pit can be a good way to demonstrate and discuss fire safety with children, as it produces a large, noticeable flame that cannot spread outside the container.

What is the difference between mini fire pits and marshmallows?

A marshmallow is a cheap, similar product. Marshmallows do not produce as large a flame. They are also often made from chemicals. Our mini fire pits are made from 100% wood scraps and beeswax, which is a natural, environmentally friendly material.
